Roasting Notes

The plan:

Warm-up:
Drum 100% (previously 80%), Airflow 20%
gas 100% until 250 C
gas off until 132 C
gas 40% until charge at 140 C

In batch:
Charge 140 C, gas 40%, airflow 20%
Gas 35%@160 C, airflow 50%
Gas 30%@175 C
Mark FC at 183 C
Gas 20%@12%DTR, airflow same
Drop at 1:50s dev time (expected 12% moisture loss)

Actual:
Warm-up as per plan. Just need to remember to change SV when switching burner back on

In batch:
Charge 140 C, gas 40%, airflow 20%
Gas 35%@145 C, airflow same
Gas 30%@155 C, airflow same
Gas same@160 C, airflow 50%
Gas 25%@175C, airflow 50% (maybe should have reduced from 170C)
Mark FC at 183 C
Drop at 1:50s dev time (roughly 9.6% dev so never got to 12%)

Cupping Notes

Tastes ok - not as much acidity as the previous roast. Might re-try with the previous settings and push the dev time a bit. I think the burner settings this time were a bit low and resulted in some stalling close to FC. Also will just manually correct charge start next time rather than trying to manually set it.
